What we do at Getaways Elopements, Micro Weddings & Intimate Events…

Getaways provides lush open spaces & private creek side settings to plan your event, ceremony and photos. Pitch a stretch tent, set up an outdoor picnic or lawn games amongst the mango tree orchard using your choice of local vendors or have the freedom to decorate it all yourself with loved ones. Wave your event guests goodbye & enjoy an over night stay in one of 3 self contained cabins in beautiful Byfield.

What we don’t do at Getaways Elopements, Micro Weddings & Intimate Events…

Loud, long, huge parties that clash with the peaceful natural surroundings. We love our neighbours & the wildlife in the area, there are plenty of local venues designed to hold larger scale events that we would be happy to refer you to.

The fine print…

Getaways at Byfield is an intimate private venue, ceremony times & maximum guest numbers are strict

Elopements: 2 hour ceremony, up to 14 event guests, 2 overnight guests

Micro Weddings & Events: 3 hour ceremony, up to 30 event guests, 14 overnight guests

Guests who are not staying in the cabins must depart the grounds upon ceremony completion time. This is for a variety of reasons: limited water supply, septic systems, insurance requirements, proximity of neighbours, council zoning etc.

We recommend Byfield’s Tranquil Tents & Events and CQ Party Hire if interested in additional lighting, stretch tents, marquees, tables & chairs, arch ways etc

Camping is not permitted, there are many other local camping options nearby that we can recommend.

We love our neighbours, no loud music or excessive noise at any time (however quiet music or use of a microphone during your ceremony is encouraged). Guests who do not adhere to the noise policy may be asked to leave & receive no refund.

A Getaways’ staff member will be ‘on call’ for your special day during the scheduled event hours, we will endeavour to assist you by communicating with vendors and guests on your behalf in regards to use of the venue.

Parking is limited: there is car parking for a max. of 15 vehicles (we can recommend local transport companies to shuttle guests to & from Yeppoon).

Vehicles are only to park in allocated car parks by cabins & reception building, not on grassed areas.

We like to ensure peace & privacy for all of our guests, please do not arrive at the property unannounced or send vendors without prior arrangements, inspections are by appointment only.

The couple & vendors must coordinate with Getaways staff regarding appropriate times for drop off/collection, location of ceremony, possible set up times etc. If you require extensive set up/pack up the day before or after your ceremony, you will need to book all cabins for those dates also. Vendors can have access to the property from 10am on the day of your ceremony & need to be packed up by 10am the following day.

The couple is liable for any damage caused to the grounds & cabins (including damage caused by vendors or guests). A refundable $500 security deposit is required 3 months prior to Micro Weddings, if no damage is recorded the amount will be refunded within a week of completion of ceremony.

A non refundable $500 deposit is required 6 months prior to your ceremony date in order to confirm your booking. The remaining balance (including $500 refundable security deposit for Micro Weddings) is due 3 months prior to your ceremony date.

Cancellation policy: if cancellation occurs more than 2 weeks prior to ceremony a full refund minus $500 deposit is provided, if cancellation occurs within 2 weeks of ceremony no refund is provided (except for refund of $500 security deposit for Micro Weddings/Event where there was no damage).
